Again it is with regret that I have to inform you of yet more bad news. At Ringmer Billy Taylor had a big off just infront of the lapscorers. At the time Billy was in a fair bit of pain but with a bit of gas and air he managed to crack a few jokes. However after reaching hospital things started to deteriorate and Billy underwent major surgery and was on a ventilator for a few days in intensive care. He broke 3 bones in his back and has done some damage to his spinal chord. At this present time (although he gets the odd tingle at the top of his legs) he has no feeling or movement from the chest down. The club has not informed you beforehand at the request of Billys family until now. We at Mid Sussex hope and pray that Billy will continue to make good progress on his recovery and will keep in regular contact with Brad for updates.
NOW here is where we all need to come together.
Lets let Billy and his family know how much love and support this sport/club has. Can everyone please send a card to Billy to let him know we are all thinking of him and to hopefully boost his morale and lift up his spirits.
Please call Riona 07912 516729 for the home address or alternatively, all going well Billy will be out of intensive care and onto a ward in a couple of days....we will post the ward name as soon as we know.

Mid Sussex Motocross Club remembered one of their much loved members at their meeting on Sunday. Brad Hooper died in a tragic accident on May 11th at Tonymoto. The Hooper family attended Sundays event at Shermanbury where Tony (Brads Father) gave a talk about his Son. A two minute silence to pay respect was then followed by a slow lap of honour by all riders in the Youth Open Group which Brad would have competed in. Tony waved the chequered flag for the returning riders and balloons were released into the air. Riders across all groups wore Black Armbands in honour of his memory and special memorial stickers were given at the scrutineering desk.
Brad began racing at the Age of 6 competing in the Auto group before his life came to a tragic end whilst competing in the Youth Open at the age of 16. He was a popular member of Mid Sussex and had many friends. He was much loved and will be sorely missed.
